MSM Rehabilitating the Dixie Chicks
Is it just me, or does the MSM seem to be running a not-so-subtle campaign to boost the Dixie Chicks' career?
This graphic has been running on MSN for a couple of days, now:
When you click through to the link you find that MSN is hosting a Dixie Chicks website.
UPDATE: Wizbang has this hilarious quote from Time magazine's contribution to the concerted MSM rehab effort (dig the martyrdom imagery -- suffering the slings and arrows of the vast right-wing conspiracy, oh my!):
"I'd rather have a smaller following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do."
Heh. This reminds me of the line from Spinal Tap, when the band's manager is asked to explain why the audience seems to have gotten smaller. The manager replies that the audience hasn't gotten smaller, but just more specialized.

Yeah right. I thought people belived in the 1st Ammendment. Remember FREEDOM OF SPEACH? Just because they have a different view from yours, you have to try and bring them down to lift your lowly behind up. HOW SAD THAT IS!

allen:
Obviously, you're a liberal, so I'll use small words:
The First Amendment only protects you from government suppression of speech. The First Amendment does not guarantee that people will not disagree with you. It also does not protect you from losing business to customers who may disagree with anything you may say.
The First Amendment also does not guarantee that making your points IN ALL CAPS will make those points any more persuasive, nor does it guarantee that under-educated liberals will be able to spell.

My first visit here!
GREAT blog, great title, rapier-sharp wit ... and best of all, your response to the neo-liberal brainless wonder at the top of this thread had me laughing 'til I peed a little.
Speaking of our obviously publicly-(un)educated friend up there: not only, sir, do you entirely fail to understand the First Amendment and the Free Speech clause therein ... you stunningly managed to misspell both "Amendment" and "Speech."
That's pretty funny.
Bravo. It's actually hard to look as stupid as you just did. Now let me clue you in on one of the most wondrous things about free "speach" (sic): when idiots like you are allowed to speak freely, it becomes painfully apparent to all just how uneducated and how eagerly ignorant you truly are - thus, by exercising your free "speach," you're doing your part to prove the falsehood of modern neo-liberalism.
Now, please - I'd like both you and the Dixie Chicks to keep talking. As often and as loudly as possible. Use a megaphone.
Nothing elects conservatives more effectively than liberals like you trumpeting their idiocy. On November 3, 2004, I sent Michael Moore a very nice thank you card for helping re-elect the President.
Please continue to exercise your First "Ammendment" right to free "speach." You're doing swell, pal.

Why would I pay 40-120$ to go to a concert where the performers are talking politics? It would be like paying a bunch of money to go hear Bill Clinton or some other political figure sing. I say do what you are paid for. Why do celebrities boost themselves up to a point where they think any topic they choose to yack about is important, and what they say is important and that people who pay for their concert tickets actually care about their political bents? We pay to hear you sing..... period. It's like watching a movie star talk about psychiatric drugs... shut up and promote your movie... shut up and sing....

Professor Blather states...falsehood of modern neo-liberalism, Neo-liberalism. Ah Ignorance is Bliss Professor. Your superior to all and we should bow to your delusional state of mind. All Hail the Professor.
