Japan reconsidering defense doctrine

I've seen enough Toshiro Mifune movies to know not to wake up an armed Japanese dude.   He might be in a bad temper.  Unless I am ready to give him something to eat.  Then it might be okay.

In any event, if you guys from the Japanese Consulate happen to see me in our building's sushi restaurant on the ground floor, today, the sake's on me.

I stumbled across your blog while I was doing some online research. As someone who had the privilege of living in Japan for a number of years prior to returning to the United States, I found much to admire in that culture, though I have to admit I never tried to awaken an armed Japanese soldier. Better to err on the side of caution sometimes.

I'm rather jealous. I find Japanese culture fascinating, and hope to spend some time there in this life.

If not, I always have my collection of Toshiro Mifune movies.
