Miami Herald decides that it's just not liberal enough
Today the Herald announced that Minneapolis Strib senior editor and executive v.p. Anders Gyllenhaall will take over the reins from Tom Fiedler.
The Strib is, of course, the same paper that refused to report honestly on now-Congressman (then congressional candidate) Keith Ellison, and that is guilty of many other sins of commission and omission, always erring on the far-left liberal extreme of things.
Which begs the question: Can the Herald get any more liberal than it already is? Perhaps.
UPDATE: Ed has a few more details on Gyllenhal's tenure at the Strib.
MORE: I missed the whole "Chihuaha" flap, and to this day I can't say what it was about. Those who didn't miss it are glad to see Fiedler go.
SWLiP: Who would have been your choice?

If it has to be a partisan liberal (and at the Herald and McClatchy, this is practically a given), I would at least hire an intellectually honest partisan liberal who understands new media, like a Michael Kinsley. Gyllenhal's tenure at the Strib has been a disaster.
